More than two weeks after the tragic deaths of esteemed film director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, friends and colleagues are still paying respects to the couple.

‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director

Sharing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he only now felt able to post publicly about his deep grief.

"Sufficient time has gone by that I can at last put my grief into words," posted Elwes, adding that his first meeting with Reiner made him fall in love. "When we commenced passing more hours together I understood this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor uploaded behind-the-scenes footage from the film, remarking that he cannot recall "a single day without mirth".

"This story is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Things that Rob cherished deeply. That is part of the many reasons he was the ideal person to direct it," Elwes continued.

He went on to praise Michele Reiner, noting: "Claiming that they were a great team would be an understatement. My heart still hurts every time I think of you." He ended with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Remembers a Fellow Artist

In a separate essay, revered director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.

"From the start, I loved being with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese said.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the main character.

"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked seamlessly with everyone, and he comprehended the human predicament of his character," Scorsese noted.

Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Sealed

In a new development, a Los Angeles superior court judge agreed to block the release of the Reiners' autopsy reports, after an appeal from the local authorities.

A legal directive placed a embargo on the files to limit the public release of "related notes, notes, reports or photos" associated with the probe.

The coroner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the consequence of murder, with a official listing listing the cause as "injuries from a sharp object".

In the wake of the tragedy, public individuals shared varying reactions.

Ex-President Donald Trump posted on the matter, offering provocative claims that were widely condemned by several public figures.
