Trevoh Chalobah Set to Step in for Marc Guehi in England Squad
Trevoh Chalobah emulated his sibling Nathaniel in playing for England, becoming the twenty-first duo of siblings to play for the national team.
Trevoh Chalobah is expected to link up with the England squad to fill in for unavailable Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi.
The 26-year-old is due to link up with the squad for England's last World Cup qualifying matches against Serbia and Albania, although it has still not been made public.
The Three Lions have already qualified for next summer's competition.
Chalobah earned his initial invitation under England head coach Thomas Tuchel in May and then made his debut against the Senegalese team.
In the month of September, Tuchel remarked Chalobah was unlucky to be left out from the selection for qualifying games against Andorra and Serbia, and also omitted him for the subsequent October fixtures.
Tuchel has been an key figure in Chalobah's development, having awarded him his Chelsea first-team bow in 2021.
Chalobah has featured in all but four matches for Chelsea this season, with the club third in the English top flight, in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals and in the group stage of the Champions League.
Guehi sustained a foot injury in Crystal Palace's Conference League success over AZ Alkmaar recently.
There are set to be other call-ups to the selection. Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has announced that both winger Anthony Gordon (hip injury) and goalkeeper Nick Pope (concussion symptoms) will be unavailable from the squad.
