The Opening Game Pass Additions of 2026 Show Xbox Isn't Giving Up Yet.

Everywhere you go, enthusiasts continue to ring the funeral bells for the Xbox brand. The platform was lately surpassed in sales by a lesser-known competitor. Xbox fan sites are now publishing content on PS5 topics for the first time. The past year represented complete chaos for Xbox and Microsoft. Yet, based exclusively on the titles headed to the service in 2026, it is apparent that Microsoft continues to plan to draw people in with compelling titles on its premier subscription.

The Current Inclusions

The two games currently accessible at this moment, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, aren't the showstoppers. The true anticipation is for the upcoming titles to Game Pass soon that's truly noteworthy.

Upcoming Headline Games

Starting January 13th, the subscription service will add the underappreciated Star Wars Outlaws, a vast exploration title that breaks up typical Ubisoft design with a cosmic robbery tale. Another big get is Resident Evil Village and its giant Lady Dimitrescu, previously described as "the perfect cocktail of terror and combat."

Intriguing Niche Additions

But even the smaller games arriving shortly on the service are quite compelling. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, the criminally overlooked roguelike that's a blast to play, arrives January 7th — and it's worth experiencing even if you missed out on the first Lost in Random game.

The game set in a ruined Britain from last year could captivate you within just a quarter of an hour.

Atomfall, a survival title with stealth elements by the developers behind Sniper Elite, is another one to watch. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to look forward to.

A Robust Selection of Games

All in all, these aren't the most groundbreaking additions to Game Pass, nor are they massive exclusive blockbusters that are the sole reason for the service alone. But Microsoft's additions here are exceptionally strong. It offers a healthy blend of past releases that passed you by and new-ish games that failed to receive the spotlight they warranted upon launch — transforming them into perfect candidates to experience a revival on Game Pass.

You might need to brace yourself to part ways with The Grinch Christmas Adventures, however.
