'Living a Nightmare': Families of Unaccounted For Young People Desperately Seek Answers After Alpine Inferno
The relatives of teens unaccounted for after a tragic inferno at a establishment in a Switzerland's ski resort are facing an agonising wait for answers and appealing for clues about their children publicly.
The fire engulfed the Le Constellation bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the small hours of New Year's Day. Circulated video depict the ceiling igniting as bottles with sparklers are raised in celebration.
Emergency services have stated that it could take days if not weeks to formally name the victims of the fire, which resulted in the death of four dozen individuals and injured another over a hundred. Authorities noted on Friday that the majority of the those hurt have been identified, with the process continuing to locate the other six.
In the interim, relatives have been taking to the internet to plead for clues about their friends who were in attendance that evening.
Desperate Searches for the Missing
The whereabouts of Swiss national Arthur Brodard, a teenager, are still unconfirmed, according to an public plea from his mother.

"This is a living nightmare, an ordeal. Either I find my son in the hospital mortuary, or I find him in intensive care. It's horrific," she stated.

The Italy's foreign ministry has said that six of its citizens have not been located.
One of those is Emanuele Galeppini, a 16-year-old sportsman, originally from Genoa but now living in Dubai.
The Italian Golf Federation has said that he is dead, without directly referencing the tragedy, paying tribute to a "young athlete who embodied passion and true sportsmanship."
His father, is quoted as saying that his son was at the bar and was last heard from around midnight. An representative has indicated that a formal confirmation of his death is still pending.
Additional Missing Individuals
Giovanni Tamburi, 16, is also unaccounted for. His parent explained that he had been on vacation but had ventured out with friends and found himself at the bar.
"Someone with him said they fled after the fire erupted and that he had his phone with him, but then at a specific moment he couldn't see him anymore," she explained, adding he had been wearing a distinctive gold chain.
One of his teachers commented, "I remember his good nature and smile, alongside great maturity. Often ask if help out."
Alice Kallergis, who holds both Greek and Swiss nationality but lives permanently in the country, was also present on that night, according to sources.
Her brother has posted an urgent request online, saying the family has had "no updates" regarding the teenager or the three friends she was with, who are also reported missing.
Consular authorities from her country of origin say they are actively engaged with the developments.
