Donald Trump Urges Delegates to ‘Move Fast’ as Discussions Set to Begin in Egypt

What’s in Donald Trump’s Twenty-Point ‘Resolution Strategy’ for the Gaza Strip?

Assuming each faction agree to a comprehensive set of conditions, the cessation of hostilities will be accompanied by the release of all Israeli hostages, including deceased and living, “in under three days” of the Israeli government officially endorsing the arrangement.

To reciprocate the release of hostages, Israeli authorities would free a group of 250 Palestinians presently undergoing indefinite prison terms and 1,700 more Palestinians in Gaza territory apprehended after the hostilities erupted on October 7, 2023 following Hamas’s deadly attack on Israel.

For each captive from Israel whose remains are released, Israel will hand back the corpses of 15 Palestinians who have died.

This proposal does not necessitate a full Israeli withdrawal before the captive release. Rather, Israel’s military would retreat to an established boundary, inside Gaza, to get ready for a hostage release.

This initiative indicates that all military operations, including bombing and artillery fire, will be paused throughout the release process and battle lines will remain frozen until “terms are fulfilled for the gradual total pullout”.

Once every captive are liberated, pardon will be granted to individuals associated with Hamas – the militant Islamic organization that the premier of Israel, Netanyahu, has frequently sworn to destroy – who accept peaceful coexistence and to disarm themselves.

Those who desire to depart Gaza territory will be given secure transit to states who have approved their entry.

This twenty-point proposal envisions Gaza as “a de-radicalized terror-free zone that does not pose a risk to adjacent states”. In a separate point, it declares the territory will be “reconstructed for the advantage of the inhabitants of Gaza, who have experienced immense suffering”.

Crucially, and opposing the vision of certain Netanyahu’s far-right coalition partners, the Israeli government will not occupy or take over the land, which was the location of 21 communities established by Israel before their inhabitants were withdrawn in 2005.

Nor will any individual be forced to leave Gaza territory, the plan promises. Individuals who want to exit will be allowed to do so without hindrance and allowed to come back.

Hamas will not be permitted any participation, “in any form”, in the upcoming leadership of the territory.

Donald Trump Calls on Delegates to ‘Move Fast’ as They Meet in the Egyptian Republic for Gaza Discussions

President Trump has encouraged Hamas and Israeli negotiators gathering in Egypt for key negotiations targeting concluding the war led by Israel in the Gaza Strip to “accelerate progress,” remarking, in remarks on Sunday morning, that there had been “extremely constructive” discussions.

The American leader said:

There were very positive talks with the Hamas organization, and Nations from around the globe (Arab, Muslim, and everyone else) during the weekend, to release the Hostages, end the War in the Gaza region but, more importantly, finally have long-awaited stability in the Middle Eastern region.

These discussions have been very successful, and moving quickly. Specialist groups will reconvene this Monday, in Egypt, to work through and clarify the remaining specifics. It has been reported that the first phase is expected to conclude within the week, and I am requesting everyone to ACCELERATE PROGRESS.

The US envoy Steve Witkoff is expected to join the negotiations, as per sources in Israel, alongside Israeli delegates and a Palestinian delegation headed by Al-Hayya, the vice chairman of the political bureau of Hamas.

The Hamas official is scheduled to have discussions with mediators from Egyptian and Qatari officials in Cairo today in the morning, prior to discussions in the resort city of Egypt of Sharm el-Sheikh.

However, the lead negotiator for Israel, Minister of Strategic Affairs Minister Dermer, is expected to join negotiations toward the end of the week, depending on progress in the talks, based on several officials from Israel.

Hope regarding a possible truce has increased globally, with officials from Western and Arab countries encouraging Israel and Hamas to reach an agreement. This past Sunday, the Chancellor of Germany, Chancellor Merz, contacted Israeli PM Netanyahu and voiced backing for the Trump proposal, labeling it as “the best chance for resolution”, as per a summary.
